The Eisenhauer Gallery will celebrate its 10th anniversary in style on Saturday, May 29 from 6 to 8 pm, with a recreation of its first opening night a decade ago.The gallery’s annual Memorial Day exhibition has become an Edgartown tradition, this year featuring gallery favorite Tjasa Owen. Landscape painters Joshua Smith, Peter Roux (formerly at the Etherington Gallery in Vineyard Haven), and Petria Mitchell will make their gallery debuts and will attend the event.Gallery owner Elizabeth Eisenhauer invites friends, neighbors, and all art lovers to view the collection of a decade’s work, enjoy classic blues with Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, and sample the gallery’s signature drink, “Dark and Stormy.” Ms. Eisenhauer says, “It’s been an amazing ride. The collection has grown and evolved so much over the years. We’re excited to have Peter Roux in our gallery. When Mary Etherington moved to Texas, she suggested us to Peter,” she says, adding, “His different, sometimes abstract, landscape style is a new and complementary addition to our gallery.”She continues: “We’re looking for a festive and lively affair. People count on our Memorial weekend party now. It’s starting to feel like a tradition, like we’ve become part of the community.”
